Powerful repost from @yusufcatstevens ✊🏿 In 1955 the U.S. tried to ban the film “Blackboard Jungle” because they felt the soundtrack and the film’s portrayal of juvenile delinquents would incite delinquency. It highlighted violence in urban schools and also helped spark the rock-and-roll revolution. The primary cause for their rebelliousness was the students’ dissatisfaction with the educational system and the social conditions in which they lived, plagued by poverty, violence, and neglect. Does this not sound familiar when looking at Israel as the classroom, and USA as the school administration? #palestine #gaza #israel #school #university #college #students #protest #rebellion #information #peace
Despite facing adversity, individuals like Carter G. Woodson exemplify the resilience of African Americans in overcoming challenges to make significant contributions, as demonstrated through his establishment of Black History Month and the ongoing struggle for social justice, urging Muslims to stand for justice and learn from African American history.

Muslim Alliance For Black Lives
One thing you can do
right now
Education is the key
"“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” - Malcolm X
Education is a top priority for the Muslim Alliance for Black Lives.
It is of great importance to educate Americans, regardless of race and ethnicity, about the history of America, from it's inception, to better understand the problems we are facing today.
RACIAL DISPARITY IN STATE PRISONS
Nationally, one in 81 Black adults in the U.S. is serving time in state prison. Black Americans are imprisoned at a rate that is roughly five times the rate of white Americans. During the present era of criminal justice reform, not enough emphasis has been focused on ending racial and ethnic disparities systemwide.
