This International #MuslimHistoryMonth, we honor African Muslim scholars such as Ahmad Baba, Al-Idrisi, Leo Africanus, Uthman dan Fodio, and Nana Asma’u, who changed the world through Islamic scholarship, science, reform, and global influence.
From Timbuktu to the Sokoto Caliphate, their legacy shaped Islamic history, African history, education, and knowledge.
Colonial systems buried their names, but their contributions to the Muslim world and beyond remain powerful.
Learn the lost history they tried to erase.

Muslim Alliance For Black Lives
One thing you can do
right now
Education is the key
"“Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” - Malcolm X
Education is a top priority for the Muslim Alliance for Black Lives.
It is of great importance to educate Americans, regardless of race and ethnicity, about the history of America, from it's inception, to better understand the problems we are facing today.
RACIAL DISPARITY IN STATE PRISONS
Nationally, one in 81 Black adults in the U.S. is serving time in state prison. Black Americans are imprisoned at a rate that is roughly five times the rate of white Americans. During the present era of criminal justice reform, not enough emphasis has been focused on ending racial and ethnic disparities systemwide.
